CHART FEATURE

Ascendant (ASC)

The Ascendant is the ecliptic degree rising on the eastern horizon at the moment of birth, and the cusp of the 1st house.

It represents the self, the body, and the chart-holder's interface with the world. The sign of the ASC sets the chart's overall tone and identifies the chart ruler (the ASC sign's traditional ruler). The ASC shifts about 1° every 4 minutes, making birth time precision critical.
